The conversion system has been used successfully in
Germany for more than 25 years and is covered by our 10
year guarantee. Our product is now even better
due to the improvements in glass technology such as
'low-e' glass and Argon gas filling. Our units can now
achieve a U-value of 1.2 or better. U-value is the
measure of the rate at which a material transfers heat
(usually given in W/m2K). Windows with a low
U-value are efficient insulators against heat
loss.

As part of our contract we can also seal
draughty windows, fix broken hinges and make front and
back doors airtight.
Our installation teams
have already converted hundreds of houses in the
Limerick, Clare, Kerry, Laois & Tipperary regions.
The various glass units we offer for our conversions
include 20mm or 24mm clear or obscure units which can
also be "low-e" coated or gas filled. These new "low-e"
coated gas filled units are especially energy
efficient.
In addition to our
standard range of Double glazed units we offer a
specialised conversion product from a company in the UK
called Slimlite which is used in older
building where the planning requirement is important or
the aesthetic appearance needs to be maintained. Mirror
& Glassworx offers Slimlite Double Glazed
Units in 10mm, 11mm, and 12mm as featured
in the TV show Grand Designs. 'U' values are UKAS
Certified to BSEN1279. With a unique 5mm perimeter seal
depth - Georgian windows, from any distance, look like
single glazing.
A typical
specification would be:
4mm low 'e' : cavity
& gas : 3 or 4mm clear float or reproduction crown
